Kim greeted us at the entryway with one of his dashing smiles. He is a little over dressed for a night on a boat but we still let him come.
Mike is in his Moshi designed East African shirt that he bought on our trip to Kili.
As we wait for all to arrive we can get a glimpse of the locals bringing back their boats after fishing the Nile for tonight's supper at the Fish Market (No, I don't eat there)
Ok so I guess others thought it was a formal occasion too...Andy, Carmen and Danny are all dressed up too.
Others are not dressed up, so we feel better.
Captain Leonardo of the My Christina, fits the role to a T. Great guy and provided us with a great experience.
Liz and Newman kicking back waiting for the amber nectar.
Cathy presented Mike with Hawaiian lays, better than the pink feather boa that is floating around, Noble you still have it?
How many air condition units does it take to cool a boat?
The Nile has some splendid house boats that you can rent...
and some that you should burn to the water!
This one has been purchased and remodeled.
A mosque ...surprise!
These minarets were beautiful with the landscaped tiered gardens and the water in front.
Sunset was perfect too
Brisa's first boat ride, strapped onto dad and loving the cool breeze and the soft gentle sway. Oh to be a babe again! Notice she is hanging on for dear life....I wonder if dad has dropped her yet?
Happy Birthday was sung in English and Arabic, well attempted in Arabic!
Mike we hope you had a memorable birthday and we feel honored to have shared this special occasion with you.

It looks like you are wrapping up your time in Egypt in style.
Happy belated birthday Mike! Its a good thing that you have friends that celebrate with you since at least some of your extended family is terrible at sending birthday wishes. :)
Julie
ok- love the African shirt, that is definitely your style!! Wow, you are either a fantastic photographer (given!) or they really cleaned up the Nile since I was there! Looks like a fun and memorable birthday...30th right?
Love you guys!
Mary, unfortunately you saw the scummiest part of the Nile. There are some prettier parts but not near the pyramids of Giza.
