Saga Continues

Well, Monday.....

The day started off with no power ... I lay in bed and wait for the air conditioner to turn back on so that I know the hot water tank will be on and the water heated ... an hour goes by as my alarm warns me every 10 minutes to get up. I cannot wait any longer so I resolve myself to a cold shower, no hair dryer but who cares it will dry in 2 minutes, no breakfast in order to go to work.

As I head out the door the power comes back on mocking me after it has been off for an hour and a half ... our longest power outage yet. Oh yeah it was 100 degrees at 7:30 am! I am soaked by the time I walk 10 minutes to work.

Get to work and find they over estimated our shipment size. Haggle, grumble, basically complain and threaten not to pay and they say they will remeasure. By 5PM they had shifted the boxes to the perfect configuration and came up with a size 2cbm less than the day before. Amazing. Savings of $920. Not bad for a days work.

Placed 20 new laptops in the hands of 20 very happy teachers, imaged a lab of 20 that will now be for the classrooms, supported several users and had lunch today!

In between all that I ran around and got my final signatures so I could collect my last check. Line at the bank ... hours long. Ugh ... end of the year or non returning staff is miserable.

But on a positive note I am almost done at work. Thursday is my last day, our final womp, and our last night in Egypt. We fly out Friday night for vacation!

Cheers!
