Where have Nancy's ankles gone? My ankles have swollen to the size of an elephants. I am hoping that it is simply from the flight.

We were meet in Zurich by Peter Duckett and several newbies. 45 of us all together with 21 from Elementary which is where I will be located. Last year there was only 4 new people so we are overwhelming everyone. We had a nice flight and I got several stares because I wore shorts on the plane. There were 3 Egyptian women who made me feel very uncomfortable so I changed into Capris half way through the flight. The food, service and chocolate were excellent.

Well we made it to Cairo, with an unbelievable welcome! We were meet by all the admin staff from CAC. The supt., principals, buddies to help us get to our apts. and Pery who is amazing and organized the whole trip. They whisked us into a private area of the airport and served water, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and food as we waited. They took all of our passports and expedited our entry Visas. We mingled and meet everyone and then headed off to Duty Free. When we got back our bags were waiting and we were assigned a bus to take us to our apt.

Bus 12 carried us, Mary Jean and Neil Crouch (HS Art), Kathleen (Elem Speech/Language) and Forrest Adams, and Mark Anderson to our apt.. on Road 256. We were introduced a little to the culture as our bus stopped in the middle of a busy street and unloaded us and our bags. The cars were not happy and got out and yelled at our driver. The yelling is heated and loud but means nothing. Our "boab", (building super) Ahmed, (Ackmed) told them not to worry and we would move soon. We brought our bags up and entered our beautiful apartment. Here are some photos as we unpacked. Living room, 1/2 bath, guest bedroom.

WOW it looks nice guys! Love the picture of the airplane wing. How's the weather? Are the windows tinted or were the photos taken at night it looks awfully dark for a city...? Eagerly awaiting the next posts!
Love,
