Yellow House Trails

Today started off with a fab breakfast at the Inn. We also picked up a picnic lunch. We started to hike around 9am. We paid our $US 6 dollar entry fee for Yellow House Trails and picked up a map.

There are 5 different trails you can hike that are loops and lead back to the main trail. We know we were too late to see toucans and such but this was more of a get outside and enjoy nature hike.

The nice lady provided a map and told us the round trip hike was about 3 hours.

Giant leaf

We took an hour and forty-five minutes to reach the first trail. We were slowed down and mesmerized by the transparent butterflies,

and non transparent ones,

dragonflies,

bird noises, and fragrant flowers. We stopped every few feet to look around and see what we could see and yes we stopped to smell the flowers, but had to be careful of the pollinators.

and we noticed interesting patterns.

Even though it was supposedly too late for toucans, Mike spotted 3 and we scared away many more.

Woodpecker

Umm??

Squirrel bird

Rooster

We also saw a single agouti (no photo) and a large group of black coati shown below.

The road part of the trail was well kept but yet pleasantly neglected as well.

The side trails were not wide and Mike and I had fun walking through spider webs galore. Also were able to see the creators.

Best of all!!! I got to see a dung beetle at work!

We heard many birds that we could not see and enjoyed our gorgeous walk until we came to the

6 hours later we were down from the hike and enjoying the hummingbirds in the feeder.
