Here are some pics of our latest home. This post is way overdue but I couldn’t post pictures until it was at least somewhat decorated. I always say it’s not home until you hang something on the wall.
Our flat is on the 7th floor, and this is our foyer/garage as it’s where we’ll keep our bikes. There’s a nice size coat closet just inside to the left as well as an equally good sized shoe closet (actually the shoe closet is bigger). It’s customary to take your shoes off before entering someone’s house and even some shops. They should provide flipflops for the guests. We’ll put ours in the camel shoe rack below which is just on the right as you exit the foyer.
The pic above is pretty much the whole place as you enter through the foyer. The landlord was going to put a wall right across in front of where the desk was running all the way to the dining table to make two small bedrooms but we asked that she didn’t do this right away but left the option to have it done later if we want. We think it would take out most of the light.
The living room pic came out dark but you can get the gist of it. The door in the back right leads to the master bedroom. Sliding glass doors here lead to our largest balcony.
The door on the right leads to a bathroom that also accesses the master bedroom.
Our dining table made the trip almost entirely unscathed.
And of course we were told to bring the sun, so we did. This piece of metal work always makes me smile. The sliding door here also leads to a small balcony.
Our desk area. This is where I’ll be hanging out most days. Still need another bookshelf and another desk chair for Nancy. Wood floors throughout except the foyer, kitchen and bathrooms. Concrete walls throughout.
Bathroom off the master. No shower here.
Master bedroom. Sliding doors for closet.
What’s behind the curtain you ask?
That’s our shower, overlooking the park.
We had the landlord install a shower curtain.
Walk in closet. Most of my clothes (explains why its a bit of a mess)as well as our gear is stored here. Might also double as a pantry if necessary.
Our 70’s retro guest bathroom. Not much I can say here except they raised the ceiling in here about 6 inches for me so I could stand upright in the tub without having to scrouch. In case you’re wondering, yes, the tub is the same color.
The kitchen. Two sinks, two burners, two dishwashers?, no oven.
Other side of our kitchen is the fridge, bottled water and recycle bins.
Tatami mats in the kitchen. They sleep on these?
Washer and dryer off the kitchen.
View from our kitchen.
Larger balcony off the living room. Views of the park below from here.
We’re very happy with our new place. It’s a ten minute walk to school and many restaurants, seven minutes to the MRT that can take us anywhere in the city. There’s a 3 mile river walk just on the other side of the park.

Love the new apartment! I agree - don't add the wall. As usual, it already looks great and I love the huge shower!
Nice digs. Come on guys, 7 stories up, over looking a park...you got to use that shower! Tell me you use that shower!
